My ancestors were Fred and Charlotte Hoare, née Deacon.
Fred is mentioned in the Gundaroo book as the local carpenter in 1865 when he was in a party of travellers held up by Ben Hall.
Fred died in 1867 and Charlotte then took over the office of poundkeeper from her late husband to try to provide for her family. Charlotte (their daughter) attended the local school and was awarded a prize for her work by Arthur Affleck in 1869.
Mrs Charlotte Hoare moved to Goulburn thereafter where she married Benjamin Batty in 1873.
The children of the family were Charles, Arthur and Benjamin as well as Charlotte who married David Hayter in Goulburn in 1879.
